New England Inspired
New England is a melting pot for creativity, in whatever form, it takes you!

The Autumn Fall
A place of quiet,
a place of peace,
Time to stop, as all thoughts cease,
As the graceful leaves of autumn flutter to the ground
And mass of beauty and colour surrounds.
Limes greens, ruby reds and orange hues,
lush grass glistening in their morning dew.
Woodland fern leaves framed in dappled light.
Mountain mists clear, revealing golden treasures of majesty & might.
Maple, Pine and Evergreen, all unique in beauty and elegance,
As Autumn leaves fade, chilly air creeps, as the leaves along the ground & begin to dance.
The oak leaves among the last to shed, and so the Autumn month is put to bed.

The Hungry Woodchuck

I have a shy friend who pops around for his tea,
He's strong, thick skinned, and hairy, rather unlike me,
Though I know him not by name, of one thing we share,
Is a hunger for the good things, of which we care,
For the woodchuck, it is the finest sunflower he can find,
For me it's the hunger for knowledge, to share & satisfy the mind.
So with every sunflower I try and grow,
Short lived though they are, at least I know,
There was once a hungry Woodchuck,
whose belly is now full!

Winter Kicks
By Helen Yorke
Though the frost bites and bitter winds chill,
winter time can bring many a thrill,
up skii lifts, down steep slopes,
Looking beyond the cold, raises our hopes,
Snow ploughs patrol and Children ride sledges,
Snowballs aimed, that miss mum, and hit hedges,
Trudging along, when it all turns to mush,
Getting a hoodful when disturbing a bush
Indoors, toasting marshmallows on a fire soon to become smores,
Appetites grow, thanksgiving leaves us wanting more.
While some may lament over the end of summer and fall,
For many its their favourite season of all.

Winter Warmer
While winter rears its chilly head,
And tempts the mind to stay in bed,
Do not despair with bitter blues,
allow your senses to be renewed.
Cinnamon, spice smells so nice
Savoury soups, with lentils or rice,
A mug of Hot cider to thaw your chills,
Blankets and quilts out to lower heat bills,
A snuggle or a hug, can melt a heart,
a simple smile's a good place to start.

A trip to Vermont
In the beautiful mountains of southern vermont there are forests with fir, ash, beech and red oak, as far as far as the eye can see.

The long winding roads, pass meandering rivers, over state park reserves, such wonderful places to be.

So many animals too make it there home, like moose, deer birds, bobcats and even black bears,

tucked deep in the heart of the many mountains, rivers and trees they roam, free from cares.

As the seasons change, so do the views, from autumnal reds, and oranges, to the wintery picture postcard whites.

And as the sun slowly sets, rolling in the blanket of darkness, the stars illuminate the sky, as day turns to night.

Take me On a Road Trip
Take me on a road trip to the city streets,
Where skyscrapers hit heights of amazing feet,
Lets go and catch a show on Broadway,
Then absorb the night life, bringing close a perfect day.

Take me on a road trip along the windy forest roads,
We could follow a state park path and see where it goes,
Equipped with a thermos and a picnic in tow,
Pick a favourite spot that only you and I know,
Take me on a road trip to the middle of no where,
The sense of adventure, strong and free of care,

Exploring landscapes whose majesty is mighty,
Find a generous viewing spot, and hug each other tightly.

Each place a thing of wonder, and unique in its design,
Where to next, there's so much choice, I can't decide!
